La scorsa settimana nel Labs di Opera si parlava di “reinventare il web” mentre nella giornata di ieri hanno presentato e pubblicato Opera Unite. Opera Unite è un web server su cui gira all’interno il browser Opera. Questo server Web, consente agli utenti di installare i servizi e parti di tali servizi possono essere condivisi con amici e colleghi. L’interazione è stata eseguita tramite un server centrale Opera Unite.
Quindi, un qualsiasi utente, previa registrazione è in grado di utlizzare questi servizi. Unite assegna un URL univoco per ogni computer. E’ proprio questo URL che abbiamo inviato ai nostri amici, che consente loro di accedere ai servizi sul nostro computer.
Iniziamo:
Il download è disponibile da qui, la compatibilità è per i sistemi Windows, Mac e Linux. Una volta che Opera è installato andremo sul sito Unite, clicchiamo in alto a sinistra sul pulsante Pannelli ( 1 ) ( sotto File per intenderci ) e ci troveremo davanti ad un Menù. Ora clicchiamo la voce Unite ( 2 ), poi doppio click su Home ( 3 ):
Effettuiamo la registrazione ( 4 ) ( a meno che non possediamo già l’account ), attiviamo l’account in base al link che ci viene spedito per posta elettronica, e saremo in grado di utilizzare i servizi di cui abbiamo bisogno:
Ci troviamo davanti ad una schermata dove è possibile selezionare anche un Nome Computer affinchè il nostro indirizzo sia raggiungibile. N.B.: è possibile impostare anche l’UPnP per una configurazione più corretta e avanzata. Premere sul pulsante Fine ( 5 );
Ora che abbiamo avuto accesso al nostro server personale, possiamo magari ascoltarci musica. Clicchiamo su Media Player, comparirà una finestra dove installato l’addon, cliccheremo su Sfoglia e selezioneremo le nostre collezioni mp3 preferite;
Inoltre è possibile rendere la nostra musica Pubblica, ovvero a disposizione di tutti, Limitata ( previo inserimento di password di accesso), oppure Privata.
Questo era un semplice esempio delle potenzialità di questo nuovo browser, le caratteristiche principali sono:
- File Condivisi, in cui è inserire in coda i vostri documenti a seconda delle preferenze;
- Web Server, eseguire interi siti web dal computer locale con il server Web Opera Unite;
- Il Lounge o cosiddetto Salotto, è un servizio chat in esecuzione sul computer. I nostri amici possono accedere alla chat tramite il link diretto, che troveremo premendo su Invite;
- Foto Condivise, condividere le foto direttamente dal PC, senza il caricamento online;
- Media Player, come visto in precedenza è possibile accedere ai propri file MP3 e le playlist da qualsiasi computer su Internet;
- Frigorifero, è rappresentata la parte superiore di un frigorifero ove comunemente si inseriscono delle note. Se si guarda il link a fondo pagina è possibile far visualizzare agli amici i nostri appunti e viceversa;
Beh, credo che avere a disposizione sempre e comunque la nostra collezione di mp3 o il nostro server web non sia da poco. La versione di Opera Unite 10 è ancora in Beta ma promette davvero bene per le prove specifiche che ho eseguito. Ora il parere spetta a voi, è davvero valido?
