Nel corso degli ultimi giorni sono state segnalate a più riprese operazioni di registrazione del marchio iWatch. In Russia, Giappone, Messico, Taiwan e Turchia, infatti, Apple ha depositato il marchio del tanto chiacchierato smart watch facendo quindi ben sperare in merito all’effettivo arrivo sul mercato del device indossabile.
Stando a quanto emerso durante le ultime ore Apple starebbe tentando di registrare il marchio anche negli Stati Uniti e nel Regno Unito dove, però, l’esecuzione di tale operazione potrebbe non essere così semplice.
Il brand iWatch, infatti, è già stato registrato negli USA e in UK da altre società ragion per cui Apple potrebbe faticare parecchio prima di riuscire ad ottenere la licenza.
Nel dettaglio, in terra a stelle e strisce il nome iWatch è già stato registrato dalla società OMG Electronics, una startup in fase di crowdfunding su Indiegogo per la realizzazione di un orologio multimediale.
Nel Regno Unito, invece, il nome iWatch è di proprietà di Probendi, una società di servizi che detiene il controllo del marchio anche nel resto d’Europa ed il cui impiego sembra essere collegato ad una soluzione software per trasmettere dati audio, video e per la localiccazione ad una piattaforma di governance.
La società pare detenga il marchio già dal 2008.
Non è tuttavia da escludere che Apple possa giungere ad un accordo economico per ottenere la cessione del nome anche se nel caso di Probendi la cosa appare abbastanza difficile poiché l’azienda attualmente sta sfruttando il marchio per un prodotto in commercio.
Staremo a vedere come si evolverà effettivamente la situazione.
