Guida: installare ed utilizzare Rainmeter per visualizzare le prestazioni del computer direttamente sul desktop

Navigando per la rete, soprattutto su youtube, avete sicuramente visto moltissimi desktop super accessoriati con indicazioni di prestazioni del sistema; se vi siete sempre domandati come ottenere una scrivania simile, è arrivato il momento di scoprirlo!. E’ importante sottolineare che l’utilizzo di un software specifico o di widget, tende ad occupare la cpu del vostro desktop, pertanto se possedete un computer un po’ datato e volete mantenere le migliori prestazioni possibili, è sconsigliato usufruire di questi programmi o di alcun tipo di widget. Vediamo come fare!

  • Il software che utilizziamo in quest’articolo è Rainmeter, scaricabile gratuitamente dalla rete (in particolare da questo link, nel nostro esempio Gnometer).

  • Terminata l’installazione, viene istantaneamente avviata la barra nella parte alta dello schermo in cui, di default, sono presenti un paio di widget (l’ora e l’attività del sistema).

  • Al centro della schermata, cliccate Placement e scegliete dove posizionare la barra e i relativi Widget; spostandovi su Colors scegliete i colori da assegnare a tale barra.

  • Nella sezione Skin Settings è possibile configurare i widget desiderati.

  • Per collegare Rainmeter con Facebook, cliccate sulla relativa voce e inserite il feed url delle vostre notifiche. Per riuscire ad ottenere tale indirizzo, collegatevi con il vostro account al social network e cliccate il relativo pulsante delle notifiche, in particolare, visualizza tutte le notifiche.

  • In questa schermata, selezionate Tramite RSS; viene avviata una nuova finestra dalla quale è necessario copiare l’intero indirizzo. Una volta effettuata questa operazione, copiate il tutto nella casella di testo precedentemente aperta da Rainmeter.

    Configurato il widget, per aggiungerlo al proprio desktop, cliccate con il tasto destro del mouse sulla barra e selezionate Gnometer -> Facebook -> Facebook-4.ini. Trascinate il widget dove volete.

  • Impostiamo, ad esempio, il meteo per la nostra città. Dopo aver selezionato Weather, nella parte centrale dello schermo, è necessario inserire il codice relativo alla propria location. Collegatevi a questo sito e cercate la zona per la quale desiderate avere il meteo sul desktop. A questo punto, nella barra degli indirizzi dovreste avere una situazione simile alla seguente.

  • Copiate il codice direttamente nella casella di testo aperta e, una volta inserito, cliccate Save. E’ ora necessario aggiungerla direttamente alla barra, pertanto cliccatevi con il tasto destro del mouse, selezionate Gnometer -> Weather -> Forecast 3-day.ini (o 5-day.ini, dipendentemente per quanti giorni volete visualizzare le previsioni).

  • Tra i vari widget relativi al sistema trovate:
      .Network: visualizza l’indirizzo Ip e la velocità di Input/output.
      .System: visualizza l’utilizzo istantaneo della CPU, RAM e SWAP.
      .Battery: visualizza la percentuale di caricamento della batteria e la relativa durata.
      .Disk: visualizza la percentuale di disco utilizzato (i numeri significano quanti hard disk visualizzare).
      .Recycle bin: visualizza il cestino e quanti elementi contiene attualmente.
      .Wireless: visualizza a quale rete Wireless siete collegati con la percentuale del segnale (nel caso sia Wifi).

    • Questi sono solamente alcuni di tutti i possibili widget che Rainmeter mette a vostra disposizione; nel caso in cui vi trovaste in difficoltà con la configurazione di qualche opzione, cliccate con il tasto destro del mouse sulla barra e selezionate Help.
